This decreases binding to IGF‑binding proteins IGFBPs , increasing free bioactive IGF‑1. Potency mechanism: binds and activates the IGF‑1 receptor tyrosine kinase , stimulating PI3K Akt and MAPK signaling for cell survival, protein synthesis, proliferation, and glucose uptake. Compared with native IGF‑1 it has higher potency and faster tissue effects due to reduced IGFBP sequestration, but shorter half‑life than some longer analog e.g., LR3 .
