Body building muscle hypertrophy a truncated synthetic analog of IGF‑1 lacking the N‑terminal first three amino acids des 1‑3 . This decreases binding to IGF‑binding proteins IGFBPs , increasing free bioactive IGF‑1. Potency mechanism: binds and activates the IGF‑1 receptor tyrosine kinase , stimulating PI3K Akt and MAPK signaling for cell survival, protein synthesis, proliferation, and glucose uptake. Compared with native IGF‑1 it has higher potency and faster tissue effects due to reduced IGFBP sequestration, but shorter half‑life than some longer analog e.g., LR3 . Typical research uses: in vitro and animal studies of muscle growth, tissue repair regeneration, metabolic signalling, and cancer biology. Safety risks: hypoglycaemia, oedema, organ tissue overgrowth, potential promotion of tumor growth, injection reactions, unknown long‑term effects. Should not be used clinically or self‑administered.
